Civic Leadership Course

Leadership Development: It is time to do it differently.

civic-leadership-logo-finalAustralian organisations in the social sector are facing increasingly complex challenges. Achieving our goals for positive social change and creating meaningful outcomes remains as vital a purpose as ever. This six day Civic Leadership course is a result of a creative partnership between several social sector organisations concerned with fostering agile and authentic responses to complex change. The course is highly experiential, giving you an understanding of the complexities of leadership alongside insights into your own personal practice. In this information age, we don’t need more knowledge, but more focused time to build understanding and a safe space in which to risk doing things differently.

“I have been reflecting on the amazing leadership journey that I’ve had the privilege to participate in through the Civic Leadership Intensive. The perfect storm – provocation and consolidation, agitation and compassion; carefully selected pre-readings, relevant group exercises and guest speakers sharing their lived experience of leadership encounters; growing in awareness to uncover blind spots; uncovering and honouring the integrity and authenticity that resides within and recognising leadership strengths in others. It has been transformative.” Gabby Holden, Uniting

“Over the years I have done many Professional Development Days around leadership and coaching, but I am happy to say that I have found the New River experience the most meaningful. The way your team delivered the course coupled with the committed attitude of the group participants made it a rewarding experience for me. Your course is so much more than leadership – it is just what I needed.”  Kellie Monro, Thomas Hassall Anglican College
